Ignite Your Spark

4-H Thrive Model Diagram

In 4-H, a spark is an interest or skill that gives you joy, energy, and purpose. Every young person has a spark, and 4-H helps them discover it! Through hands-on projects, leadership opportunities, and community involvement, youth gain the confidence and skills to thrive today and be prepared for the future.

The Beyond Ready initiative builds on the 4-H Thrive model, helping young people discover their sparks, feel a sense of belonging, form positive relationships, and engage deeply in learning. Together, these experiences ensure youth are ready for college, careers, and leadership in their communities.

At the heart of 4-H are clubs, where youth and caring adults come together to learn, share, and grow. Members build practical skills, explore their interests, and support one another, all while having fun. Nearly every Kansas community has a club nearby. In addition to the club experience, day camps, workshops, project-specific SPIN Clubs, and leadership development opportunities are open to all youth, not just 4-H members.

4-H is where young people belong, discover who they are, and become inspired to make a difference. When youth find their spark, they don’t just grow; they become Beyond Ready.
