2026 4-H Year Enrollment : October 1, 2025 - May 1, 2026
4-H’ers must establish project enrollment by 11:59 pm, May 1,2026 to be eligible to exhibit in those project areas at the 2026 Douglas County Fair. This deadline is for all 4-H members.
4-H membership is open all year. However, after May 1, 4-H’ers who join or have an enrollment status that is still pending WILL NOT be eligible to exhibit in the 4-H division at the 2026 Douglas County Fair.

Upcoming Event Reminders
April 11 | 10:00 a.m. | Money Smarts – Dreher Family 4-H Bldg.
- Money Smarts is a hands-on financial literacy event for youth ages 11–14 featuring fun, interactive learning stations.
- Participants learn real-world money skills from community leaders, including budgeting basics and the actual cost of owning a car.
- Youth take part in a life-like simulation where they roleplay a young adult, making monthly spending decisions on housing, transportation, food, childcare, insurance, and more.

April 25 | Spring Livestock Expo | Douglas County Fairgrounds
- This event is open to Kansas 4-H/FFA members ages 7–18 as of January 1, 2026, and is a County Fair Prospect Show only. Our goal is to provide a positive and educational experience for all participants.
- Pre-entries must be submitted online by 11:59 p.m. on April 6 to guarantee a T-shirt.
- Final registration deadline is April 17.
- The entry fee is $40 per exhibitor.

We all know the saying that every building needs a solid foundation to stand strong. However, it is seldom noted that the framework is also crucial in supporting the interconnected parts that carry the building's load. The same can be said for the youth in our community. Having a good foundation is just the start.
Listen in as Nancy, our 4-H Youth Development Program Assistant, shares her experience with her co-host, 4-H alum, and daughter, Claire. Learn from the perspectives of both the parent and the child on how being raised in 4-H helped build a solid framework of skills that are being used well into adulthood.
